What Alex Oxlade Chamberlain might say to Arsenal fans right now

Dear Arsenal fans,

I need to be honest with you. I need you to know the truth.*

It hurts but it is what it is.

As a professional footballer I'm so happy I'm playing playing at the highest level. The club is paying me £65,000 a week and believe me, it's a lot. I can't really grumble.

Time to go
But I also want to achieve. I'm no different to anyone else. If you're good at something, you want to do as well as humanly possible, just so you reach your full potential.

Trophies are important to me and I want to win as many as I can. I love and respect the FA Cup and winning it three times has been fantastic.

The thing is though, it's about more than that. My career isn't long. I'm 24 right now and I reckon I probably could play until I'm about 35. That's 11 years away but it will go quickly and I don't want to waste time. Right now I think I'm playing my best football and I've got to think about things properly.

And that's what it all comes down to. If I'm honest, the way things currently are at Arsenal I'm not going to win anything other than the FA Cup. The whole time I've been here we haven't really looked like we've been able to win the Premier League title even when we've had a decent chance. We just seem to choke after Christmas and things just fall apart.

Things were bad before but now it's a bit of a mess here. You know what's going on and I know you're frustrated too.

Myself, Alexis and Mesut are in the last year of our contracts and the club haven't really looked like they wanted to keep us. If they did, surely they would have got things sorted ages ago?

Also, Lucas was only brought last summer from Spain but didn't play much last season. When he did, he was sharp. He got goals and looked very good.

He seemed to get used to the pace of English football and I reckon if he was given a proper run he would have scored a lot more goals. He's a good lad but I think he was treated shockingly. I don't blame him for being p****d off. I know I would be. Now the club are going to lose him.

It just sums things up and it's really getting on my nerves.

Last week against Stoke The Gaffer played the new lad Sead in the back three and Nacho in the centre of defence even when we had centre backs available. He then played Hector as a left wing back even though he's right footed.

Wenger past it
He then took off Alexandre toward the end of the game and brought on Theo. No offense to Theo but Alexandre is just the better striker. I think he should have been kept on just in case he nicked a goal or two.

Alexandre showed us in pre-season what he can do. He scored on his Premier League debut and scored a perfectly good goal last Saturday that was ruled off side. I think the decision was a bit harsh.

Alexandre was disappointed after the game. It might be too early to say this but I just hope he doesnt get frustrated with the way things are too.

We can score but we can't defend. Steve Bould was a geat defender in his day but it's almost like he's not been allowed by The Gaffer to sort out the defence. I can only imagine what he must be thinking.

The club have offered me £185,000 a week. It's a big jump from what I'm on believe me, but no amount of money is going to keep me here - not while the manager is in charge. That's how bad things are.

He's going to be here for another couple of seasons. I know a lot of you are unhappy with that and I can't blame you. Chelsea have come in and I'm seriously considering going there. Here's why:

First of all, I'll be playing under Conte who knows what he's doing. No disrespect to The Gaffer but last week against Stoke showed me he's past it. I just have to be honest.

There are managers much better than him tactically and Conte is one of them.

Conte tactically on point
Also, I'll only be going from north to west London so I won't have to move house.

I'll also get Champions League football. Not just Champions League football but I think Chelsea will actually challenge. There are good players there and a manager that is tactically on point.

Liverpool have come in for me too. Klopp is a passionate manager and won Bundesliga twice - he knows what he's doing. Liverpool going forward are amazing. They'll cause us all sorts of trouble Sunday if we aren't careful.

They also have Champions League football this season but I'm just not sure I want to move so far north - Chelsea are just the better fit at the moment.

So there it is. I said I'd be honest.

I've had a great expeience here. I never thought I'd play for big team like Arsenal so soon in my career. I'll always be grateful to The Gaffer for giving me a chance. I just wished I could have achieved more by now. I won't say that in the six and a bit years I've been here I've always played out of my skin but I've definetly worked hard and tried my best.

You fans are fantastic and have been great to me. I wish you and Arsenal the best.

But It's now time for me to move on.

Alex
